Liverpool are reportedly considering making a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with the English centre-back potentially available on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires. Guehi has caught the eye of Newcastle as well, but Liverpool could be in pole position to secure his services.
In other transfer news, Manchester United turned down loan offers from Real Betis for Brazilian winger Antony and Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen on deadline day. It remains to be seen if the two players will seek moves elsewhere in the future.
Meanwhile, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is set to be frozen out at Napoli after failing to secure a move to Chelsea. The 25-year-old will reportedly not be included in the squad as a result of the transfer saga.
On a different note, the £16.8m transfer of Chelsea striker Deivid Washington to Strasbourg fell through due to concerns that the deal would face scrutiny as both clubs are owned by the same entity, BlueCo.
