A fire broke out on a New York City ferry boat named the “Father Mychal Judge” while it was traveling along the Hudson River near Jersey City. Around 37 passengers were evacuated from the boat onto a separate vessel with no reported injuries. The fire was quickly extinguished and the ferry boat was taken back to port. One passenger, Cary Broder, described the scene as frightening, with orange flames shooting out of the back of the boat. Despite the scare, he plans to continue taking the ferry as it saves him time on his commute to work. The incident was captured on video, showing passengers evacuating the smoky ferry boat. New York Waterway officials have not commented on the incident.
