A man was shot and killed by a police officer outside a fire station in Woodbridge, Virginia, after he was found brandishing a knife in the parking lot. The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. on Thursday on fire department grounds. The officer, who was finishing a shift, reportedly tried to get the man to drop the knife, but the man ignored commands and approached the officer, leading to the shooting. The man was shot in the upper body and later died in the hospital. Thankfully, no officers or fire personnel were injured in the incident. Police say there is no active threat to the community, and the officer involved will be placed on administrative leave.
