DraftKings, a popular online sportsbook, has announced plans to launch its services in Washington DC as part of a market access agreement with DC United. Pending the necessary licensure and regulatory approvals, DraftKings will soon be available in the nation’s capital, making it the 29th jurisdiction in North America where the sportsbook can be accessed. Customers can look forward to a variety of betting markets and features, including same-game parlays, in-game betting, and special odds boosts.
Matt Kalish, President of DraftKings North America, expressed excitement about the expansion, noting the rapid growth of legal sports betting in recent years. The company is eager to bring its top-rated sportsbook to Washington DC, thanks to the support of the DC Council and partnership with DC United. Danita Johnson, President of Business Operations for DC United, highlighted the goal of providing fans with a seamless experience, with the introduction of DraftKings’ online sportsbook as another option for DC residents to bet in the city.
In a separate development, DraftKings faced a $100,000 fine in New Jersey for inaccurate financial reporting earlier this month. Despite this setback, the company remains committed to expanding its presence across North America and providing customers with a best-in-class sports betting experience.
