Heather Rae El Moussa Discusses HGTV Future Amid Cancellations
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Heather Rae El Moussa, star of HGTV’s The Flip Off, addressed the recent wave of cancellations at the network, revealing her uncertainty about its implications for the show’s potential second season. While promoting a new PETA campaign featuring her son, Tristan, Heather acknowledged, “We actually haven’t [heard from HGTV]. Obviously, I do know they are going through big internal changes.”
Since June, HGTV has canceled multiple shows, including Battle on the Beach and Married to Real Estate. According to sources, The Flipping El Moussas, featuring Heather and her husband Tarek El Moussa, is “not coming back.” However, there remains hope for The Flip Off, which debuted in January 2023 as HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series among adults in over a year. While no filming or air dates are set, insiders suggest season 2 is still a possibility.
Reflecting on her time with HGTV, Heather expressed her enjoyment of filming, stating, “It was a great show, and it still is a great show.” She hinted at a playful rivalry with Christina Haack, Tarek’s ex-wife, if the show returns. Beyond HGTV, Heather is eager to explore new opportunities, including hosting roles. She values her time with Tarek but is also conscious of balancing her career with family time.
Additionally, Heather is excited about her PETA campaign, which promotes empathy for animals and introduces tasty vegan alternatives. “It’s not as challenging as people may think,” she shared, urging families to consider plant-based diets. The project, combining her passions for advocacy and family, highlights her commitment to spreading awareness about kindness and sustainability.
