Yarbrough Shines Against Former Team in Yankees’ Win Over Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (AP) — In a striking turn of events, Ryan Yarbrough showcased his talent on Sunday night, leading the New York Yankees to a 7-3 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers—only a day after receiving a World Series ring from his brief time with the team.
Pitching six innings while allowing just one run, Yarbrough recorded a season-high five strikeouts and effectively neutralized the Dodgers’ top hitters. “I feel like I’m in a really good place right now,” Yarbrough said, reflecting on his performance. The 33-year-old left-hander had previously made 44 relief appearances for the Dodgers and Blue Jays before signing a one-year, $2 million deal with the Yankees in March.

Teammate DJ LeMahieu also contributed significantly, achieving his first four-hit game since 2021, with two runs batted in, while raising his batting average to .239.
