Gunman Sought in Deadly Shooting Outside CVS in Prince George’s County
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. – Police are actively searching for a gunman who fatally shot a man just outside a CVS Pharmacy on Friday morning.
Authorities responded to the incident shortly after 10 a.m. in the 7000 block of Allentown Road, near Truth Righteousness and Love Ministries in Temple Hills. Eyewitness video captured the shocking moment when the assailant, dressed in a dark shirt, greeted the victim, who wore a white t-shirt. After a brief handshake, the gunmanrevealed a weapon from his backpack and opened fire, striking the victim multiple times while standing over him.
A worker in the nearby shopping center reported counting eight .40 caliber bullet shell casings at the scene. One witness recounted the harrowing moment, stating she rushed to the victim and watched him take his last breath.
In response to the violence, Prince George’s County Public Schools placed Crossland High School, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and Avalon Elementary on lockdown for approximately 35 minutes while police conducted their investigation.
