Orioles’ Ramón Laureano Exits Game After Ankle Injury
MILWAUKEE (AP) – Baltimore Orioles’ right fielder Ramón Laureano left Tuesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers after sustaining an ankle injury while pursuing a fly ball. The incident occurred in the fourth inning when Laureano attempted to catch a shallow fly hit by Rhys Hoskins. As he sprinted towards the ball, his foot became caught in the outfield grass, causing him to roll over and allowing Hoskins to advance to second base with a double.
Following the injury, Laureano remained in the game for the remainder of the inning. However, he did not return for the fifth, prompting the Orioles to bring in Dylan Carlson as a replacement. Interim Orioles manager Tony Mansolino reported that Laureano is experiencing discomfort in his left ankle. “It sounds like it’s going to be kind of day to day,” Mansolino said, indicating that the team is hopeful the injury is not serious.
