Driver in Virginia identified after crashing into light pole, hitting pedestrian, and evading police


A 42-year-old man has been identified as the driver responsible for a series of crashes in Fairfax County, Virginia on Wednesday night. Jilmar Doria-Medina of Fairfax, Virginia was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and two counts of hit-and-run after allegedly hitting several cars and a light pole before striking a pedestrian in Alexandria City. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. The crash caused a power outage in nearby communities and forced the closure of King Street between Dawes Avenue and Chesterfield Road. Fairfax County Police and Alexandria City Police are investigating the incident.
