Nineteen students from DC Central Kitchen’s culinary job training Class 171 recently graduated from the 14-week program with a 91% job placement rate. The graduation ceremony was held at Capital Turnaround in Southeast D.C. The program not only teaches cooking skills but also essential life skills, providing an opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who have been previously incarcerated or in recovery, to turn their lives around and secure a livable wage. The CEO of DC Central Kitchen, Mike Curtin, and two graduates shared how the program has had a positive impact on their lives.
