Early Tuesday morning, road closures near the U.S. Capitol were caused by police activity following a routine traffic stop on Constitution Avenue. After the individual fled the scene, a barricade situation ensued, but no arrests were made, and the incident was determined to not be connected to Congress. The event unfolded less than a mile from the Capitol complex, leading to temporary closures of Constitution Avenue between 4th and 6th Streets, the 200 block of 5th Street, and the eastbound lanes of the 400 block of C Street.
