Two members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office are currently in the Dominican Republic assisting in the search for Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old college student from Chantilly, Virginia, who went missing during a spring break trip earlier this month. Konanki was last seen at a hotel in Punta Cana on March 6, and authorities are working with both Dominican police and the FBI to find her. It is believed that Konanki disappeared at a beach near the hotel during a power outage, while she and other guests were outside. Video obtained by a Dominican news outlet shows Konanki walking with friends and a young man at the resort, and authorities have identified the man as a person of interest named Joshua Riibe. The investigation is still ongoing, with no charges currently filed. Despite assumptions that Konanki may have drowned, there is still no evidence to confirm this theory. The Dominican Republic Attorney General has assured that a thorough investigation is being carried out, considering all possible factors surrounding Konanki’s disappearance. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and other authorities are committed to finding Konanki and providing support for her family during this distressing time.
