Livestock mixed, grains experience mostly lower prices


In early trading on Wednesday at the Chicago Board of Trade, grain futures experienced mostly lower prices. May corn decreased by 8.5 cents to $4.62 a bushel, while May wheat was down 1.5 cents at $5.55 a bushel. Meanwhile, May oats saw a slight gain of 0.25 cents at $3.70 a bushel and May soybeans lost 8.25 cents at $10.03 a bushel.

Over on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, beef prices were higher while pork prices were lower. Apr. live cattle rose by 0.45 cent to $2.00 a pound, Apr. feeder cattle was up 0.78 cent at $2.78 a pound, and Apr. hogs were down 0.15 cent at $.86 a pound.
