Focus shifts to removal of wreckage following recovery of all 67 victims from DC plane crash.

The Unified Command overseeing the recovery efforts of the recent aircraft collision at Reagan National Airport announced on Tuesday that the remains of all 67 victims have been recovered, with 66 positively identified. The plane carrying 64 passengers and crew members collided with an Army helicopter carrying three military personnel.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed the identification of several parts of the airplane wreckage recovered from the Potomac River. The NTSB is leading the investigation and plans to hold future briefings at its headquarters in D.C. due to the completion of the on-site work.

An update from the NTSB revealed a discrepancy in altitude data between the airplane and helicopter involved in the crash. The investigation includes air traffic controllers, who are working with the NTSB to provide context on issues like staffing levels, which are currently at a ten-year low.

Reagan National Airport resumed operations after the collision, but some travelers reported feeling anxious about flying following the tragedy. Dr. Lorenzo Norris, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, advised travelers to address specific fears and remind themselves of the importance of their flights.

The recovery and investigation efforts are ongoing, with a focus on retrieving the remaining wreckage from the river to gather additional information related to the crash. As authorities work to piece together what happened, the NTSB will continue to provide updates on the investigation.
