A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Washington, D.C. in 2024. The incident occurred on Oct. 25, 2024, when police responded to gunshots on Georgia Avenue. An 18-year-old man, Hazma Jamil Mubah-Wrotten, was found unconscious and not breathing after being shot. He later died in the hospital on Oct. 28. On Jan. 31, 2025, a 16-year-old resident of Northwest, D.C. was arrested in Maryland in connection with the shooting. The teen was extradited back to D.C. on Feb. 1 and charged with second degree murder while armed. His first court date has not been scheduled yet. The Metropolitan Police Department is handling the case.
