Paul George and Tyrese Maxey shine as 76ers defeat Hornets 110-104 for their first back-to-back wins

Paul George led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 110-104 victory over the Charlotte Hornets with 29 points. Tyrese Maxey added 21 points, including eight crucial points in the final 30 seconds. The win marked the first time the 76ers won back-to-back games this season. Philadelphia finished 2-2 in Group A NBA Cup play, while the Hornets ended at 0-4 without advancing out of pool play.

Brandon Miller scored 34 points for Charlotte, while Nick Richards had a strong performance with 22 points and 14 rebounds in his second game back from injury. Tidjane Salaun and K.J. Simpson also had good showings for the Hornets.

Philadelphia maintained a double-digit lead for most of the game, but Charlotte made a late rally to take the lead before Maxey’s layup put the 76ers back on top. George’s efficient shooting, going 10 of 16 from the field and hitting 6 of 9 three-pointers, was a key factor in Philadelphia’s victory.

The 76ers seem to be finding their rhythm with their third win in five games, with improved ball movement leading to open shots. The Hornets, on the other hand, finished their homestand with a disappointing 0-5 record.

The 76ers will face the Magic next, while the Hornets are set to play against the Knicks. Mark Williams returned to the court for Charlotte after nearly a year, showing some rust in his first game back.
