NBC4 Washington reports that the Biden White House 2024 Holiday theme is called ‘A Season of Peace and Light’.

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden are getting into the holiday spirit at the White House with a festive display that aims to evoke the “peace and light” of the season. Jill Biden decorated the White House with whimsical decorations based on the theme of “A Season of Peace and Light”, inviting National Guard families and volunteers to be among the first to see the decorations.

More than 300 volunteers spent a week decorating the White House with over 28,000 ornaments, 2,200 paper doves, and 165,000 lights on 83 Christmas trees, as well as other displays like a ceiling that mimics snowfall and brass-colored bells lining hallways.

The official White House tree, a Fraser fir from North Carolina, features a rotating carousel with reindeer and other animals bobbing up and down on poles. The decor includes a Gold Star tree, honoring fallen service members, and paper doves carrying messages of peace.

In the State Dining Room, a starburst made out of sugar shines above a gingerbread White House, complete with snow-covered grounds and mini Christmas trees. Military families from the Navy vessels USS Delaware and USS Gabrielle Giffords helped create paper garlands for the decor.

Jill Biden, as part of her initiative Joining Forces to support military families, invited National Guard families to be the first to experience the decorations. The White House is transformed into a festive wonderland, reflecting the Bidens’ commitment to honoring the holiday season and military service.
