33-year-old community activist, Cornelius McDonald, was tragically gunned down outside of a restaurant in Prince George’s County. McDonald, who lived in Upper Marlboro, was described as a crisis hotline worker and support worker for youth. As a father and beloved member of the community, he ran an organization called Stay SOLID, which supported youth mental health. Known as ‘the voice of the next generation,’ McDonald made a significant impact on those around him.
The suspect, who fled the scene following the shooting, has yet to be identified or arrested. Investigators are working to determine if the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation prior to the incident. Police are urging anyone with information on the case to come forward and call 301-516-2512.
The community is mourning the loss of McDonald, with many expressing shock and sadness over the tragic event.
