Wayne Northrop, best known for his roles in “Dynasty” and “Days of Our Lives,” has passed away at the age of 77 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. His wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, confirmed his death at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home, expressing gratitude for the care he received during his illness.

Northrop, born in Washington in 1947, began his acting career with appearances on various TV shows before landing his iconic role as Detective Roman Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” He also played Dr. Alex North on the same soap opera and portrayed Michael Culhane on “Dynasty.”

In addition to his acting career, Northrop was passionate about wildlife conservation and eventually purchased a cattle ranch in California with his wife. They also converted the oldest house in Raymond into a museum, showcasing their dedication to preserving historical landmarks.

His wife, Lynn Herring, a former beauty pageant contestant and soap opera actress, has been a recurring cast member on “General Hospital” and “Port Charles” since the 1980s. The couple had been married for 43 years and are survived by their two sons, Hank and Grady.

Wayne Northrop’s impact on the entertainment industry and his commitment to conservation efforts will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike. His family has requested privacy during this difficult time, and further details regarding memorial arrangements have not yet been released.
