Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy scheduled to meet with House Republicans

Businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will meet with House Republicans next week to discuss cuts to federal government spending as part of their role heading the Department of Government Efficiency under President-Elect Donald Trump. The new department’s focus is on dismantling bureaucracy, reducing regulations, cutting wasteful expenditures, and restructuring federal agencies. House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson will host Musk and Ramaswamy on December 5 to discuss ideas for regulatory rescissions, administrative reductions, and cost savings to revive the principle of limited government.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Musk and Ramaswamy outlined their plan to reform the federal government, which includes overseeing a significant reduction in the federal workforce by identifying the minimum number of employees needed for agencies to perform their functions. They intend to work with agency appointees to achieve this goal.

This meeting follows a previous closed-door meeting in November where Musk, Ramaswamy, and Trump met with House Republicans, with Trump endorsing Johnson for a second term during that meeting. The collaboration between these businessmen and House Republicans reflects a commitment to achieving greater efficiency and cost savings in the federal government as part of the broader ‘Save America’ movement.
