Julien Arnold, a theater actor from Edmonton, Canada, reportedly died during a production of “A Christmas Carol” at the Citadel Theatre. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he died at the scene. Arnold played the roles of Marley and Mr. Fezziwig in the play. The theater announced scheduling changes in light of his death and plans to dedicate the remaining production to honoring his legacy.
Arnold was a founding member of the Free Will Players theater group and had a bachelor of fine arts and a master of fine arts. He had a successful career playing various roles in productions such as “Twelfth Night,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “A Midsummer’s Night Dream.”
The theater community mourned his loss and remembered him as a beloved actor with charisma and talent. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his wife and cover funeral expenses, raising more than $42,000 by Friday evening. Arnold’s death was a tragic loss for the Edmonton theater community, and his contributions to the stage will be deeply missed.
