Thanksgiving Day bomb threats target four Democratic lawmakers

Multiple House Democrats from Connecticut, including the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, were targeted with bomb threats at their homes on Thanksgiving Day. Fortunately, all members and their families are safe and no bombs were found. The threats came a day after several of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees also received similar bomb threats. Congressman Jim Himes stated that he was notified of a bomb threat at his home where he was celebrating Thanksgiving, but no evidence of a bomb was found after a quick response. He emphasized that there is no place for political violence in the country and urged for peace and civility. Rep. Jahana Hayes also received a bomb threat via email stating that a pipe bomb had been placed in her mailbox, which was investigated but no bomb was found. Rep. Joe Courtney also received a bomb threat, with no bomb found in this case as well. All three representatives expressed gratitude towards law enforcement for their response and emphasized that such threats will not be tolerated. Despite these frightening incidents, they all expressed gratitude for their loved ones and wished everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
