Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in southern Gaza, particularly in Khan Younis, resulted in the deaths of 38 people, including 13 children from one family. The Israeli military claimed to be targeting militant infrastructure and fighters in the area. In addition, reports surfaced that Israeli forces had raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, where healthcare workers and displaced people were forced to strip and some detained. The dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza have been exacerbated by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
In parallel, Israeli strikes in Lebanon killed three journalists aligned with Hezbollah and Iran, raising concerns over the escalating violence in the region. On the other side, rocket barrages from Lebanon into northern Israel resulted in casualties, highlighting the cross-border tensions. The incident led to Lebanon’s Health Minister reporting a total of 11 journalists killed and eight wounded since the conflict began in October 2023.
The World Health Organization expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital and the loss of communication with staff members. Amid reports of patients dying due to a lack of resources and Israeli fire, the U.N. has warned of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. With casualties on both sides and mounting civilian casualties, the international community has been called to intervene and address the escalating violence to prevent further loss of life.
