A woman is recovering after being shot in a triple shooting in Southeast D.C. early Sunday morning, according to police. The incident occurred on the 800 block of Barnaby Street SE, where multiple shots were fired. The woman, who says she was an innocent bystander, was inside her apartment when she heard the gunfire and was struck in the arm and chest by a bullet as she approached the door. She expressed her confusion and frustration about being caught in the crossfire, stating that she gets along with everyone and is grateful to be alive. Two other men were also injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman does not know the men and emphasized that the ongoing violence in D.C. is a concerning issue. D.C. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they continue to investigate. The woman’s account of the shooting was shared in an exclusive interview with FOX 5’s Shomari Stone. She is expected to recover from her injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
