Vem Miller, a Las Vegas man, was arrested with loaded firearms, multiple passports bearing different names, and an unregistered vehicle at a checkpoint ahead of a rally by former President Donald Trump in southern California. Miller was found carrying a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine, but Trump was never in danger, according to authorities.
Miller is a registered Republican and a film and TV industry professional who hosts a podcast called “Blood Money” on the American Happens Network, focusing on corruption, controversy, and conspiracy. He also ran for state Assembly in Nevada and lost in the primary.
Miller was charged with possession of a loaded firearm and high-capacity magazine, but does not face federal charges. He was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 2.
The arrest comes after two previous assassination attempts against Trump, one in September involving Ryan Wesley Routh and another in July involving Matthew Crooks. Both attempts were unsuccessful, but Miller’s arrest raises concerns about potential threats to public figures.
The Secret Service, FBI, and U.S. attorney’s office stated that the incident did not impact protective operations and Trump was not in any danger at the rally. Miller was stopped at a checkpoint by local deputies at an inner security perimeter before Trump arrived at the event.
