Hezbollah drone attack kills 4 soldiers in Israel’s military

An Israeli airstrike at a school-turned-shelter in central Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 20 individuals, including children, according to local hospitals. This incident occurred amidst ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched a drone attack on an Israeli army base near Binyamina city, killing four soldiers and severely injuring seven others.

International criticism has mounted against Israel for allegedly targeting U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the peacekeepers of providing a human shield for Hezbollah. The United States announced plans to send an air-defense system to Israel to enhance protection against missiles.

In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes destroyed an Ottoman-era market in Nabatiyeh, killing at least one person and leaving several others wounded. The Israeli military claimed to be targeting Hezbollah in these attacks. Meanwhile, in northern Gaza, the evacuation of civilians and ongoing strikes by Israel have left many fearing permanent displacement and destruction.

The conflict, which began with Hamas-led attacks a year ago, has resulted in thousands of casualties and widespread devastation. The Gaza Health Ministry reports over 42,000 Palestinian deaths, with women and children accounting for over half of the fatalities. Israel claims to have killed over 17,000 fighters. The situation remains dire as violence continues to escalate.

This latest incident reflects the deepening crisis in the region, with no immediate resolution in sight. International efforts are underway to address the escalating conflict and provide aid to those affected by the violence.
