Vanderbilt secured their second consecutive SEC victory by defeating Kentucky 20-13 on Saturday night. Diego Pavia threw two touchdown passes and Brock Taylor kicked two field goals to lead the Commodores to victory. This win comes on the heels of their historic victory over top-ranked Alabama last week. Pavia threw a 20-yard touchdown pass on their first possession and added another 18-yard scoring pass just before halftime. Taylor’s long field goals helped Vanderbilt maintain their lead throughout the game.
Kentucky struggled with penalties and mistakes, including fumbles by their holder Wilson Berry. Despite a late touchdown pass by Brock Vandagriff, the Wildcats were unable to overcome their errors. Vanderbilt’s defense played a key role in securing the win, despite being outgained by Kentucky in total yardage.
Vanderbilt’s upcoming game is against Ball State in non-league play, while Kentucky will face Florida in their next SEC matchup. The Commodores will look to build on this win, while the Wildcats will aim to bounce back from their disappointing performance.
