In a thrilling game at the Rose Bowl, Darius Taylor led Minnesota to a 21-17 victory over UCLA with a late touchdown reception. The Gophers rallied in the final minutes to secure the win, with Max Brosmer making key plays on the drive. Brosmer finished with 193 passing yards and two touchdowns on the night, while Daniel Jackson had 10 receptions for 89 yards and Koi Perich had two interceptions.
Despite Ethan Garbers throwing for 293 yards for the Bruins, they were unable to hold on to the lead in the final minute. UCLA had led for most of the game but fell short in the end. After a late touchdown by Minnesota, UCLA attempted a Hail Mary on the final play, only for Perich to intercept the pass at the goal line.
The Gophers, now 4-3 in the Big Ten, showcased a flair for dramatic victories as they also defeated USC the previous week. UCLA, with a 1-5 record, continues to struggle to find their first win in the conference.
Looking ahead, Minnesota will enjoy a break before hosting Maryland on October 26, while UCLA will face Rutgers next Saturday. Despite the loss, UCLA remains determined to turn their season around and secure their first victory in the Big Ten.
