Parts of the country are experiencing extreme weather conditions, with temperatures in the triple digits in some areas and early snowfall in others. A Facebook post by the New Hampshire State Parks announced the closure of Mount Washington State Park due to full winter conditions at the summit, including snow, cold temperatures, strong winds, and wind chill values in the single digits. Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeastern U.S. at 6,288.2 feet, experienced temperatures in the mid-20s and winds up to 60 mph. The post shared photos of the winter wonderland at the top of the mountain. The park officials were reminded that winter comes early in New England.
