Hurricane Milton caused a crane to collapse near a construction site in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, leaving a hole in an office building. The crane was being used to construct a luxury condo building and no injuries were reported. The city of St. Petersburg urged the public to shelter in place and avoid the area while they assess the situation. The CEO of the company developing the skyscraper confirmed that the crane cab had fallen and they are working with city officials to address the aftermath of the storm. USA TODAY’s Trending Reporter, Max Hauptman, contributed to this report.
