Israel maintains that their operations in Gaza are aimed at preventing Hamas from regrouping, targeting militants while blaming civilian deaths on the militant group for operating in residential areas. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel had killed the successor to the leader of Hezbollah, leading to increased tensions in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, at least four people were killed in an Israeli strike on a shelter in southern Lebanon, while six people were stabbed in a militant attack in northern Israel. Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered preparations to evacuate Filipino citizens from Lebanon due to escalating attacks.
Turkish navy ships have arrived in Beirut to provide humanitarian aid and evacuate Turkish citizens, with other nationalities also requesting evacuation. The death toll in Gaza continues to rise, with over 42,000 Palestinians killed since the conflict began, overwhelmingly affecting women and children.
In Germany, police dismantled a pro-Palestinian protest camp in Dortmund after organizers hinted that climate activist Greta Thunberg might visit. Additionally, at least 18 people, including children and women, were killed in Israeli strikes in central and northern Gaza, intensifying the conflict in the region.
