Two people have tragically lost their lives and another person is fighting for her life after a house fire broke out in Southeast D.C. early Sunday morning. The fire occurred at a 2-story townhouse on 23rd Street. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, but a woman had to be rescued by ladder and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two other adults were later found deceased at the scene. The DC Fire and EMS Department is currently investigating the incident. The fire caused street closures in the area and firefighters are still present at the scene. As more information becomes available, updates will be provided.
