Police in Washington have made a third arrest in connection with the fatal stabbing of 53-year-old Fasil Teklemariam. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Tommy Whack, was charged with first-degree murder while armed-felony murder. Whack was taken into custody on October 4 in La Plata, Maryland and extradited to D.C. for further investigation.
This arrest is the third in the case, with two women previously charged for their involvement in the murder. 19-year-old Audrey Denise Miller and 22-year-old Tiffany Taylor Gray were accused of killing Teklemariam and cutting off his thumb in an attempt to steal his money. The victim was reported to be one of the suspects’ sugar daddy.
According to police reports, Teklemariam’s body was found in his apartment on April 5 with multiple cuts to his legs, a cut on his right hand, and his right thumb removed. The medical examiner also revealed that the victim was stabbed in the heart and suffered a fractured skull. Investigators believe Miller was the one responsible for the murder.
Whack, Miller, and Gray are all currently in custody and facing charges related to the murder of Fasil Teklemariam. The case has shocked the community and highlights the dangers of online relationships and the importance of caution when interacting with strangers.
