Discussions on Deputy President’s Impeachment Motion Spark Clashes in Kenya

Kenya’s Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, is facing an impeachment motion in parliament due to accusations of supporting anti-government protests and involvement in corruption. Public forums were held across the country to discuss the impeachment, leading to clashes between supporters and opponents of Gachagua. In Nairobi, violence erupted at a forum with chairs being thrown, and in Nyeri county, police clashed with the deputy president’s supporters.
