Tampa Bay Rays beat the Boston Red Sox 2-1 on Friday night in a close game at Fenway Park. The winning run came in the seventh inning when Josh Lowe hit an RBI double and later scored. Taj Bradley pitched six scoreless innings for the Rays, while Boston’s Nick Pivetta allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings. In the bottom of the seventh, the Red Sox managed to score one run off Rays pitcher Colin Poche. Edwin Uceta closed out the game with a scoreless ninth inning for his fifth save of the season. Red Sox outfielder Tyler O’Neill was absent from the starting lineup, but the reason for his absence was not disclosed. On Saturday afternoon, Red Sox right-hander Kutter Crawford is set to face off against Rays right-hander Shane Baez.
