At least 53 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours in Israeli attacks on homes and shelters, according to the Palestinian Civil Defence. The casualties include a family who lost 11 relatives in August. Additionally, a woman and her five children were killed in an Israeli bombing in the town of Hay al-Nasr, while at least three people were killed in Gaza City’s Zinjo neighbourhood.
The UN Secretary-General called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to hostilities, condemning the atrocities committed by both Hamas and Israel. The death toll in Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 41,495, with over 96,000 wounded. In Israel, at least 1,139 people have been killed in the attacks by Hamas, while more than 200 have been taken captive.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have conducted arrests in various areas including Hebron, Idhna, Kafel Haris, Iskaka, Burqin, Beit Furik, Salem, Asira ash-Shamaliya, and Dheisheh refugee camp. Overall, nine Palestinians were arrested from the Dheisheh refugee camp alone.
The situation remains volatile, with continuous attacks in Gaza, particularly in the central region and the southern city of Khan Younis. Entire families have been killed, and hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties. The international community is being urged to mobilize for an immediate ceasefire and work towards a two-state solution.
