After the recent debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, their running mates are now preparing for a debate in New York City. CBS News announced that Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Republican Sen. JD Vance of Ohio have agreed to participate in a debate on October 1. Both campaigns agreed to this date after considering other proposed dates.
The debate is set to begin at 9 p.m. ET on October 1 and will be broadcast on CBS and livestreamed on various platforms. It will be held at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan. Meanwhile, former President Trump declined an invitation to debate Vice President Harris for a second time on October 23, just before Election Day. He cited the voting already started as a reason for declining, while Harris had accepted the invitation and expressed her readiness to participate.
Despite Trump’s initial claim of winning a previous debate against Harris, there was uncertainty about his willingness to participate in another debate. However, there is a possibility that he might reconsider based on his mood. The upcoming vice presidential debate between Walz and Vance presents an opportunity for voters to hear from their running mates on important issues leading up to the election.
