Former President Donald Trump has announced that he will not engage in another debate with his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris due to a lack of additional topics to discuss. In an interview with Telemundo Arizona, Trump stated that he and Harris had already had two successful debates, and he believes they have already covered everything. Trump’s decision follows a Truth Social post earlier in the day declaring that there would be no third debate.
Harris, however, has expressed that she and Trump owe it to voters to have another debate, stating that the stakes of the election are too high to not engage in further discussions. Despite this, Trump remains firm in his decision not to participate in a third debate.
During the interview, Trump was also questioned about his controversial claim during the debate that Haitian immigrants in Ohio have been eating dogs and other pets. Trump stood by his statement, insisting that he received the information from local authorities and newspapers. However, these claims have been debunked by local police, who stated that there have been no credible reports of pets being harmed by Haitian immigrants in Ohio.
Meanwhile, the vice-presidential running mates, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio and Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, are still scheduled to meet for their only debate on October 1st. The decision by Trump to forego a third debate with Harris may have an impact on the dynamics of the upcoming election.
