Two teenage boys were shot in Southeast, D.C., with D.C. police responding to the scene at the 3900 block of 8th Street around 9:50 a.m. The victims, believed to be 16 and 17 years old, were found conscious and breathing with non-life threatening injuries. They ran to a nearby school, KIPP DC Legacy College Preparatory, for help. The shooting did not occur at the school, and police are searching for a black truck with unknown California tags believed to be involved. The school is in secure status, with students stable and alert and receiving medical care. The parents of the victims have been notified. The incident is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
