Ravens’ Van Noy Slams Chiefs’ Medical Team for Lack of Injury Support – NBC4 Washington

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy criticized the Kansas City Chiefs’ medical staff for their slow response to his eye injury during the recent season opener. Van Noy expressed disappointment in the delay in seeing a doctor and felt the situation was unacceptable, adding that the Chiefs’ training staff received a failing grade on NFLPA report cards.

Van Noy shared his experience on his podcast with retired defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, recounting the frustration of not receiving immediate attention for his eye injury. Chiefs spokespersons did not comment on Van Noy’s remarks. Van Noy, despite wondering if the delay was due to playing for the Ravens, does not expect an apology from the Chiefs.

The 11th-year NFL player, who is in his third season with the Ravens, was not at practice the following day. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh chose not to get involved in the situation, expressing respect for all medical staff in the league. Van Noy emphasized he did not need the Chiefs to apologize publicly, but his experience was concerning to him.

The incident has shed light on player concerns regarding medical care and the importance of timely treatment for injuries. As the 2024 NFL season progresses, the focus is on player safety and the quality of medical attention provided by each team’s staff.
