A man was arrested in Arlington County, Virginia following a dispute at a residence on N. Ivy Street. Police responded to the incident on September 10, around 9:18 p.m. after receiving a report of a dispute inside the home. When officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the occupants, they heard the sound of a firearm being manipulated inside the house. Police then executed a search warrant and took the suspect into custody, recovering a loaded firearm with an extended magazine, an AR-style rifle with a drum magazine, and ammunition.
The suspect, identified as 56-year-old Eric Salvan of Arlington, Virginia, allegedly assaulted a victim during a verbal dispute inside the residence. The victim managed to leave the home before the police arrived and was later found safe. Salvan has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm and assault and battery.
This incident highlights the dangers of disputes escalating into violence, especially when firearms are involved.
