Justin Timberlake is set to appear in court on Friday to plead guilty to a lesser charge in relation to a DWI arrest in the Hamptons a few months ago. Timberlake had his license suspended for refusing a breathalyzer at a traffic stop, leading to the drunken driving charge in June when he was pulled over for running a stop sign and veering out of his lane in Sag Harbor. The court document stated that Timberlake displayed signs of intoxication such as bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and poor performance on sobriety tests. He claimed to have had one martini and was following friends home when he was arrested and refused a breath test.
While it’s still unclear what misdemeanor Timberlake will plead guilty to or what the penalty may be, the 43-year-old singer and actor will face the consequences of his actions in court. His attorney previously stated that Timberlake was not intoxicated at the time of the arrest, but the court documents paint a different picture. The Grammy-winning artist has a long-standing career that began with Disney’s Mouseketeers, continued with boy band NSYNC, and transitioned into a successful solo career.
As the court date approaches, all eyes will be on Timberlake as he takes responsibility for his actions and faces the repercussions of his DWI arrest in the exclusive Hamptons community.
