Basketball legend Magic Johnson made a visit to Ida B. Wells Middle School in Northwest D.C. following the announcement of his official involvement with the Washington Spirit investor group. During his visit, Johnson spoke with FOX 5’s Chad Ricardo about his excitement in joining the organization, highlighting the success of the Spirit and emphasizing the importance of supporting young female athletes both on and off the field.
Johnson expressed his commitment to partnering with those who believe in winning in the sports arena as well as in the community. He shared his enthusiasm for the future of women’s sports and soccer, stating that he is eager to see what can be built in this arena.
Additionally, Johnson took the time to visit the Boys and Girls Club in Northeast as part of an event organized by the Commanders foundation. This event showcases Johnson’s dedication to supporting youth and empowering them to excel both athletically and academically.
