The president has set four goals for his final months in office, including increasing investment in infrastructure, reducing costs for Americans, safeguarding freedoms, and strengthening alliances to confront global challenges.
Despite not running for re-election in 2024, Biden’s team is working closely with Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign to ensure a smooth transition and build on his legacy. The president plans to focus on constituencies where he has appeal, such as senior voters and blue-collar communities.
While specific plans beyond September are subject to change, Biden is expected to travel extensively overseas, including to Germany and sub-Saharan Africa. He is also hoping to hold high-profile meetings with key world leaders, including a potential meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in November.
Although Biden’s role in the campaign won’t be as robust as past presidents, his team believes he can help strengthen the argument for Harris by vouching for her character and commitment to supporting working and middle-class voters. Biden is determined to make the most of his final months in the White House and continue to engage with Americans across the country to highlight the progress made under his administration.
