Police chief in Manassas Park expresses optimism in search for missing mother Mamta Kafle

Manassas Park Chief Mario Lugo has described the search for missing Virginia woman Mamta Kafle as promising after new leads and tips emerged in the investigation. Detectives executed a search warrant at Kafle’s residence and Chief Lugo believes she is no longer alive. Kafle’s husband, Naresh Bhatt, is currently in jail without bond and charged with concealing her body, after selling his car days before his arrest. Police confirmed they have possession of Bhatt’s Tesla, which had been sold to a dealership. The community has been rallying for justice for Mamta, with calls for more resources for women dealing with domestic violence. Chief Lugo expressed solidarity with the community and assured that they are doing everything to bring closure and hold whoever is responsible accountable.

The search for the body of the missing Manassas Park mother continues, with Prince William County authorities conducting another search at Naresh Bhatt’s home. Chief Lugo added that hearing about Kafle’s life as a mother was inspiring and showed that she was cared for by those around her. During a city council meeting, concerns about domestic violence were raised, as well as the need for justice and closure for Mamta. Manassas Park Mayor Jeanette Rishell declined to comment during the meeting. The community continues to stand together in seeking answers and resolution in this tragic case.
