They are usually found clinging to debris like logs, especially those covered in gooseneck barnacles which they feed on. In case of being pricked by the poisonous bristles, adhesive tape can be used to remove them and ammonia can help relieve discomfort. The best way to interact with a fireworm is by taking a photo or using a stick to carefully move it into the water to observe its behavior.
