Carroll County Sheriff Investigator Taylor Bristow died on Friday from injuries sustained while serving a warrant related to a child sexual exploitation investigation. Bristow was shot while assisting a Georgia Bureau of Investigations investigation, and the suspect, Christopher Bly, also shot himself and was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple electronic devices containing child sexual abuse material were seized from the scene. Bristow, age 30, was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he later passed away. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department expressed deep sadness and loss over Bristow’s death, praising his dedication to protecting the citizens of Carroll County. Carroll County is located near the Alabama border, about 49 miles west of Atlanta.
