Jackie Taylor expressed excitement and gratitude for the team’s commitment to keeping her father’s legacy alive. Sean Taylor, who was killed in 2007, will be the first player to be memorialized with a statue by the Commanders. His No. 21 jersey was retired in 2022, making him only the third player in franchise history to receive this honor. Before his tragic death, Taylor had a promising career as a two-time Pro Bowl selection and the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.
