North County Alliance soccer teams participated in the Washington Rush Cup tournament, held at Skagit River Park on the weekend of August 3-4. Both the boys and girls teams reached the finals, featuring several North Whatcom players. Over 20 teams from the Lynden-based club competed in the tournament, with Lynden High School facing off against Mt. Rainier FC and Ferndale High School playing against Bellevue United. Lynden High School’s Conor Baillie scored two goals to lead NCA to a 3-0 win, while Ferndale High School lost 1-0 to Bellevue United. Nooksack Valley and Lynden Christian also participated in the tournament, with Nooksack Valley senior Leo Orozco and Lynden Christian’s Hattie Hendricks and Lynden’s Meg Clarke showcasing their skills. Despite strong performances, NCA suffered a 1-0 loss to Bellevue United in the finals. The tournament featured over 500 games and provided a platform for young soccer players to showcase their talents and compete against other teams. Overall, the Washington Rush Cup tournament was a successful event for North County Alliance soccer teams, highlighting the talent and dedication of the players.
