New NFL Coaches Looking to Make an Impact in 2024 Season
In the NFL, at least one team with a new coach has reached the playoffs every year since the 2006 season. Last year, DeMeco Ryans led the Houston Texans to the playoffs with the help of standout rookies C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. This trend continued in 2022, with a record five first-year coaches guiding their teams to the postseason.
This year, there are eight teams with new head coaches aiming to make their mark. Jim Harbaugh, who returned to the NFL after coaching a national championship-winning team at Michigan, stands out as having the best chance to make an immediate impact with the Los Angeles Chargers. However, the Chargers face tough competition from the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
Other new coaches include Brian Callahan of the Tennessee Titans, Dave Canales of the Carolina Panthers, Mike MacDonald of the Seattle Seahawks, Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots, Raheem Morris of the Atlanta Falcons, Antonio Pierce of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Dan Quinn of the Washington Commanders.
Each coach faces unique challenges and expectations as they strive to lead their teams to success in the upcoming season. Fans can expect an exciting season as these new coaches look to leave their mark on the NFL.
